ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how the quality and amount of muscle in patients might affect their recovery after a liver transplant. Researchers have found that good muscle health before and after the transplant can influence how well the surgery goes and how patients recover. In this study, they will collect medical images of patients' muscles before and after their liver transplants to better understand this relationship. The goal is to find ways to help doctors monitor patients' health and improve their outcomes after surgery.
To participate in this trial, you need to be an adult who is having a liver transplant from a deceased donor for the first time. Unfortunately, some patients won’t be eligible, including those with certain complications like serious heart or kidney problems, or those who have had previous transplants. If you join the study, you can expect to have CT scans taken of your muscles before and at specific times after your transplant to help researchers gather important information. This research could lead to better care and support for future liver transplant patients.
