ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial, called Positive Feeding of the Preterm Infant (PoP), is exploring a new feeding strategy for preterm infants in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The main goal is to see if this feeding approach, which focuses on the baby's development and natural feeding cues, can be successfully used in the NICU. The study also wants to find out if parents and healthcare workers find this feeding method acceptable and helpful during the infants' stay in the hospital.

To participate in this trial, infants must be born at 28 weeks gestational age or older and have been moved from a regional hospital to the NICU. Unfortunately, babies with certain medical conditions that make feeding difficult, those born as triplets or more, and parents who do not speak Norwegian or English will not be eligible. If you join the study, you will follow a specific feeding plan tailored to your baby's needs, while receiving support from the healthcare team. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to gather important information that could improve feeding practices for preterm infants in the future.
