ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how different room temperatures might affect the measurements taken during vascular ultrasound scans of veins in patients with critical limb ischemia, a condition that affects blood flow to the limbs. The study aims to find out if the temperature in the scanning rooms can change the size of the veins measured during these tests.
To participate, you need to be an inpatient at University Hospital Limerick and under the care of a vascular consultant. You must be at least 18 years old and deemed suitable for two ultrasound scans. However, if you are unable to give informed consent or have certain conditions like varicose veins, you won't be eligible for this trial. If you join, you can expect to undergo two scans in different temperature settings, which will help researchers understand how temperature impacts vein measurements. This information could be important for improving how these scans are done in the future.
