ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the Complete Lifestyle Medicine Intervention Program, is designed to help individuals manage conditions like high cholesterol, diabetes, obesity, hypertension, and heart diseases. Over the course of two years, the West Parry Sound Health Centre will invite around 40 participants aged 65 to 74 to take part in a unique program that lasts six months. The program will involve group classes focused on six important areas of lifestyle changes, including diet, exercise, and stress management, all supported by a team of health professionals like doctors, dietitians, and health coaches.
To be eligible for the trial, participants should have conditions such as prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, or be overweight (with a body mass index of 25 or higher). Unfortunately, healthy individuals will not be able to join. Throughout the program, participants can expect to learn valuable lifestyle skills that may improve their overall health. It's important to note that we anticipate some drop-out, so we're inviting 20 people for each group to ensure that we have enough participants who complete the program. This is a great opportunity for those looking to make positive changes in their health under professional guidance.
