ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how different breathing parameters affect patients with serious brain injuries who need help with ventilation (breathing support through machines). Researchers want to see if there is a connection between the severity of the brain injury, measured by a score called the Glasgow Coma Scale, and certain breathing measurements taken when the patient first arrives for treatment. The study focuses on adults who have experienced stroke, traumatic brain injury, or bleeding in the brain, and it aims to find out if these breathing measurements change based on the patient's initial neurological condition.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be at least 16 years old and have a recent acute neurological injury that requires mechanical ventilation, but they should not have any pre-existing lung problems. Participants will have their breathing parameters monitored using specific ventilators, and the researchers will collect data to understand the link between breathing and brain injury better. It’s important to note that people with certain conditions, like severe lung issues or unstable blood pressure, will not be eligible to join the study.
