ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how a virtual reality (VR) program can help reduce stress in nurses who work in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Nurses in this setting often face high levels of stress due to the complex care they provide to newborns, and this study aims to find out if using VR can help them relax and feel less stressed. The trial will involve 30 NICU nurses and nurse assistants who will try out two different activities: a VR relaxation program called INSPIRE and a tablet gaming option. Each participant will experience both activities in a random order, and the researchers will measure their stress levels before and after each session to see which method is more effective.
To be eligible for this trial, participants need to be nurses or nursing assistants assigned to the NICU. However, those with a history of epilepsy or recent eye surgery cannot participate. Over five weeks, each session will last around 15 minutes, and the researchers hope to gather feedback on how well the VR program works for stress relief. If the study shows positive results, it could lead to better stress management strategies for healthcare workers, ultimately improving their well-being and the quality of care they provide to patients.
