ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying two types of surgeries for patients with a condition called radiculopathy, which is often caused by a herniated disc in the lower back. The trial compares traditional microscopic discectomy, a common surgery that involves making a small cut to remove the herniated disc, with a newer technique called endoscopic discectomy, which uses a tiny camera and instruments to perform the surgery through an even smaller incision. Researchers believe that the endoscopic method may have several advantages, including less pain after surgery, fewer complications like infections, and a quicker recovery time.
To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old and have undergone one of these surgeries for a herniated disc. If you had the endoscopic surgery between February 2020 and May 2022, or the traditional surgery before February 2020, you could be eligible. Participants can expect to help researchers understand which surgical method is better for recovery and overall outcomes. This trial is currently recruiting, so there are opportunities for interested patients to get involved and potentially benefit from the latest advances in treatment.
