ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a type of treatment called visceral osteopathy for people who have functional constipation. Functional constipation is a condition where individuals experience difficulty with bowel movements, often feeling like they can't completely empty their bowels. The aim of the study is to see how effective this osteopathic approach is compared to traditional treatments, which often focus on lifestyle changes like diet and exercise.
To participate in the trial, individuals must be 18 years or older and have a diagnosis of functional constipation based on specific guidelines. However, those with certain gastrointestinal diseases, recent abdominal surgeries, or specific health conditions, like pregnancy or unexplained weight loss, cannot join. If eligible, participants can expect to receive either the osteopathic treatment or conventional methods and will help researchers understand which approach works better for managing constipation. This study is currently recruiting participants and aims to provide more insights into non-drug treatment options for this common condition.
