ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how antenatal education, specifically online childbirth preparation classes, can help reduce fear of childbirth, improve the ability to give birth, and change the perception of traumatic birth experiences for pregnant women. Many women experience anxiety about their health and their baby's health during pregnancy, and this study aims to see if learning relaxation and breathing techniques online can help. The research will involve healthy pregnant women who are at least 20 weeks along in their pregnancy and who are first-time mothers (nulliparous).
Eligible participants should be over 18 years old and not at high risk for pregnancy complications. If you join, you can expect to attend a total of six hours of online classes over three weeks, where you will learn valuable skills to help you during labor. This study is important because it is exploring the effectiveness of online education when in-person classes are not available, which could be beneficial for many women. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to include a total of 42 women, divided into two groups, to compare the outcomes.
