ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding how bacteria behave in patients with acute cholangitis, a serious infection of the bile ducts. Researchers want to learn about antibiotic resistance, which is when bacteria do not respond to standard treatments. The study will involve patients who undergo a procedure called ERCP, which helps to diagnose and treat problems in the bile ducts. By examining patient information and testing samples from bile, the team aims to identify patterns in antibiotic resistance and evaluate how well current treatments are working.
To participate in this trial, patients must be at least 18 years old, able to give informed consent, and diagnosed with acute cholangitis. Unfortunately, those under 18, pregnant women, or individuals with certain medical complications cannot join. Participants will be closely monitored during the study, and their experiences will help improve treatment options for future patients facing similar health challenges. This research is currently recruiting participants, and anyone interested should reach out to learn more about the study and how they can get involved.
