ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating how blood flows in the part of the pancreas that remains after a surgical procedure called pancreaticoduodenectomy, which is often done to treat pancreatic conditions. The researchers are using a special dye called indocyanine green to help them see and measure the blood flow. The main goal is to find out if this method can help identify patients at a higher risk of developing pancreatic fistulas, a complication where fluid leaks from the pancreas.
To participate in this study, patients must be undergoing this specific type of surgery at the hospital during the study period. It is open to all genders and patients aged 65 and older. However, individuals who are allergic to indocyanine green or prefer not to participate will not be included. If you join the study, you can expect to have your blood flow monitored during your surgery, which could help improve care for future patients.
