ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well a noninvasive method of measuring heart function works compared to traditional invasive techniques in critically ill patients in a respiratory intensive care unit (ICU). The goal is to see if the noninvasive method, which does not require inserting a catheter into the body, can accurately assess heart parameters like cardiac output, which measures how well the heart is pumping blood.
To participate in this trial, patients need to be 18 years or older and currently receiving care in a respiratory ICU, regardless of whether they are experiencing blood flow issues. However, individuals with certain conditions, such as active infections at the catheter insertion site or serious heart rhythm problems, will not be eligible. If you or a loved one meets the criteria and decides to join, you can expect to undergo tests that compare these two methods of heart assessment, helping researchers understand which is more effective for critically ill patients.
