ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on developing a new way to diagnose sarcopenia, which is a condition characterized by muscle loss and weakness, primarily in older adults. Researchers are using ultrasound images to create advanced computer models that can help identify sarcopenia and estimate a patient’s strength. The goal is to make it easier for doctors to recognize this condition and provide better care for those who may be struggling with mobility and muscle function.
To participate in the trial, you need to be over 50 years old and have signs of sarcopenia, such as difficulty walking, standing up from a chair, climbing stairs, or if you’ve recently had a fall or experienced unexpected weight loss. Unfortunately, individuals with certain conditions, like severe swelling or those with a pacemaker, cannot take part in the study. If eligible, participants can expect to undergo ultrasound imaging and contribute to important research that could improve how sarcopenia is diagnosed in the future.
