ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new technology called the Hypotension Prediction Index (HPI), which uses advanced computer algorithms to predict when a patient might experience low blood pressure (hypotension) during lung surgery. This is important because low blood pressure can lead to complications after surgery. The researchers want to see how well this prediction tool works in patients undergoing lung resections, which are procedures to remove part or all of a lung, particularly when one lung is temporarily not used during the surgery.
To participate in this trial, patients need to be adults aged 18 or older who are scheduled for certain types of lung surgeries and will require blood pressure monitoring during anesthesia. They should be in stable physical condition but may have some health issues, such as mild to moderate heart problems. Participants can expect to be monitored closely during their surgery and recovery, and their experiences will help determine if this new prediction tool can improve patient care. It's also important to note that patients with severe heart conditions or those needing emergency surgery cannot join the trial.
