ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how a new tool called a patient decision aid (PDA) can help people with hypothyroidism better manage their medication. Hypothyroidism is a condition where the body doesn't produce enough thyroid hormone, and many patients struggle with taking their medication correctly, which can lead to health problems. The trial aims to see if using the PDA can improve patients' understanding of their treatment, help them take their medication as prescribed, and enhance their overall quality of life.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 21 years old, able to read and speak English, and have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Specifically, your thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) levels should be above a certain level, indicating that your treatment isn't effective enough. Participants will be randomly assigned to either the group that uses the PDA or a control group that does not. Throughout the trial, you'll learn more about your condition and how to manage it better, and your feedback about the PDA will also be collected. This study is important because it could lead to better ways for patients to manage chronic health conditions like hypothyroidism.
