ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how combining mental tasks with physical rehabilitation can help athletes recover better after surgery for a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). When athletes get hurt and have surgery, they usually focus on physical exercises to regain strength. However, sports often require quick thinking and decision-making while moving. This trial aims to find out if practicing both physical movements and mental tasks together during the final stages of rehabilitation can improve muscle function and overall recovery, potentially reducing the risk of re-injury.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be between 18 and 40 years old and have had surgery for a torn ACL at a specific hospital in Roeselare. Those who have had multiple surgeries on the same knee or have other serious injuries or health conditions affecting their legs won’t be eligible. Participants can expect to engage in exercises that challenge both their body and mind, helping them prepare for a safe return to sports. This research could lead to better rehabilitation programs that address both physical and mental aspects of recovery.
