ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is comparing two different methods for fixing a ventral hernia, which is a type of belly button or abdominal wall bulge. The trial will look at how well each method works in preventing the hernia from coming back and whether there are any complications, like infections or pain. One method uses traditional stitches to secure a mesh, while the other uses a newer technique that doesn’t require stitches.

If you or a loved one has a ventral hernia and are between the ages of 65 and 74, you might be eligible to participate in this study. It’s important to note that people with certain conditions, such as complicated hernias or those that are very large, won’t be included. Participants will receive either type of hernia repair and will be monitored to see how well each method works over time. This study is currently not yet recruiting, so there will be more information coming soon for those interested in taking part.
