ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying the effects of placing patients in a "prone position" (lying on their stomachs) while they receive a special type of breathing support called venovenous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VV-ECMO) with very low tidal volume ventilation. The goal is to see if this position helps improve lung function and blood flow in patients suffering from acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), a serious condition where the lungs can't provide enough oxygen to the body. The trial is looking for adult patients who are on mechanical ventilation and have been on VV-ECMO for less than 48 hours.

To participate, patients must be 18 years or older and not have any serious heart or lung problems that would prevent them from lying in a prone position. Participants can expect close monitoring and care during the trial, as researchers will evaluate how their lungs respond to this treatment. It's important to note that the trial is currently recruiting participants, and those interested should discuss their eligibility with their doctor to ensure they meet the criteria.
