ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how effective different medications are at reducing a condition called emergence delirium in young children who are undergoing tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy surgeries. Emergence delirium can cause confusion and restlessness as children wake up from anesthesia. The researchers want to see if certain study drugs can help lessen this condition, as well as how they affect pain levels, recovery time, and any negative behavior changes after surgery.
To participate in this trial, children between the ages of 2 and 12 who are scheduled for these surgeries and are in good health (classified as ASA physical status 1 or 2) may be eligible. However, children with certain conditions, like emergency surgeries or specific health issues, won't be included. If your child participates, they will receive one of the study drugs during their procedure, and the team will monitor their recovery closely to gather important information about their experience. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, so keep an eye out for updates if you're interested.
