ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how high-flow nasal oxygen therapy affects the amount of air and fluid in the stomach of obese patients who are going to have surgery. High-flow nasal oxygen therapy is a method that provides extra oxygen through a special nasal device before surgery. Researchers will use ultrasound to measure the stomach's volume before and after this therapy to see if it makes a difference for patients.

To be eligible for this study, participants need to be adults with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher who are scheduled for surgery that requires general anesthesia. However, there are some conditions that would exclude someone from participating, such as having breathing difficulties, certain heart or lung issues, or a history of surgeries that affect the head or neck. If you choose to participate, you can expect to provide information about your health and undergo some tests before the surgery, all while contributing to important research that may help improve care for future patients.
