ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "Unfolding the Wisdom Within," is exploring a new program designed to help teenagers living in residential care who often struggle with emotional and behavioral challenges due to difficult past experiences. The goal is to develop a compassion-based approach that can improve their mental health by teaching them compassion for themselves and others. Researchers will look at how this program affects the teenagers' mental well-being over time and whether changes in their sense of compassion are linked to improvements in their emotional difficulties.
To participate in this study, teens must have been in residential care for at least one month. They will not be eligible if they have serious cognitive issues or are experiencing severe mental health crises, such as psychotic symptoms or thoughts of self-harm. Participants can expect to engage in activities aimed at enhancing their mental health through compassion. This trial aims to create an effective, evidence-based program that can be used in residential care settings to better support these young individuals.
