ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how to better identify and treat women with severe preeclampsia or eclampsia who are experiencing breathing problems, also known as pulmonary complications. These conditions can lead to serious issues like fluid buildup in the lungs, which can make it hard to breathe. The researchers will use special tests called lung ultrasounds and echocardiograms to see how well the lungs are working and to detect any problems early on. By doing this, they hope to improve care for these patients, especially in hospitals with limited resources.
To be eligible for this study, women who are admitted to the Princess Christian Maternity Hospital with severe preeclampsia or eclampsia can participate. However, women with long-standing high blood pressure or certain conditions that make lung tests difficult won't be included. Participants can expect to undergo these ultrasound tests as part of their care, which may help doctors make quicker and better treatment decisions. Overall, this study aims to find ways to reduce serious health issues for women facing these challenging pregnancy-related conditions.
