ClinConnect Summary

The EDUGUTION Study is looking at how physical exercise and nutrition can improve health in people with type 2 diabetes. This part of the study is focused on checking in with participants one year after they completed a three-month program that included exercise and dietary advice. The researchers want to see if there have been any changes in the participants' health and lifestyle habits over the past year. They will be measuring things like diet, quality of life, fitness levels, and will also take blood samples to check their health.

To be eligible for this study, participants need to be non-smokers, drink very little alcohol, and have a body mass index (BMI) greater than 25. They should not be insulin-dependent or have major health issues that could interfere with exercise. Participants will visit the University Hospital for a single day to complete the required tests. This study will involve about 120 people who took part in the previous EDUGUTION study. It’s a great opportunity to see how well the earlier program worked in the long term!
