ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how a technique called olfactory mental imagery might help patients feel less anxious and improve their recovery after heart surgery. The researchers want to see if this technique, which involves using your sense of smell to help relax and calm the mind, can positively affect things like heart rate and overall well-being in patients who have just undergone cardiovascular surgery.

To participate in the study, patients need to be scheduled for elective heart surgery and must not have any smell issues, serious head injuries, or major psychiatric conditions. The study will include 90 patients who will be divided into two groups: one group will practice breathing exercises using the olfactory mental imagery technique, while the other group will receive standard care. Data will be collected during the first few days after surgery to assess the effects. It's important to know that this trial is currently recruiting participants and is open to all genders within a specific age range.
