ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of breathing exercises on patients with rib fractures. Researchers want to find out if adding special breathing therapy to standard pain management can help prevent lung problems, like pneumonia, which can happen after such injuries. The trial will involve two groups of participants: one will receive regular treatment for their pain, while the other will also do breathing exercises for eight hours a day. By comparing the outcomes of both groups, the study aims to see if the breathing therapy makes a difference in lung health.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should be adults aged 18 to 100 who have a rib fracture that occurred within the last 24 hours. However, those with serious conditions like a collapsed lung or other major injuries will not be included. If you join the trial, you can expect to receive either standard care or standard care plus breathing exercises, and researchers will monitor your lung health during the study. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and everyone is welcome to apply.
