ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at different methods for detecting dysplasia, which is a condition that can occur in the colon of people with inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) like colitis. The researchers want to see if a new digital staining technique is better at finding dysplasia during a colonoscopy compared to the traditional chromoendoscopy and regular white light methods. If you're a patient with IBD and are scheduled for a colonoscopy, you might be eligible to participate in this study.

To take part, you should be planning to have a surveillance colonoscopy for IBD, but you cannot have had a total colectomy (surgery to remove the entire colon) or be pregnant. You also need to have a well-prepared bowel for the test, meaning that the preparation before the colonoscopy must be good enough. If you join the trial, you can expect to undergo the colonoscopy using one of the three techniques being studied. This research aims to improve how dysplasia is detected, which could lead to better care for patients with IBD.
