Ischemic Stroke Arterial Stiffness Pulse Wave Velocity Rehabilitation

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how a specific measurement called Pulse Wave Velocity (PWV) relates to recovery in patients who have had a stroke. PWV measures how stiff the arteries are, and the researchers want to see if changes in PWV after four weeks of intense rehabilitation therapy can help predict how well patients recover, especially in their ability to use their arms.

To participate, individuals must have had their first ischemic stroke (a type of stroke caused by a blockage in the blood supply to the brain) within the last three months and be able to understand the study and give their consent. However, those with certain conditions like bleeding strokes, major brain injuries, or other serious neurological diseases are not eligible. If you join this study, you'll be closely monitored during the rehabilitation process, and your progress will be tracked to see how your artery health and recovery are connected.
