ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking to understand how different types of massages can help relieve neck pain. Researchers want to see if the amount of pressure needed to feel pain before the massage can predict how much pain relief a person might feel afterward. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either a massage that may cause some pain, a massage that does not cause pain, or to simply place their hand in a cold water bath.
To join the study, you need to be between 18 and 60 years old and currently experiencing neck pain that has lasted for at least three months. Your neck pain should be noticeable, rated at a 4 out of 10 or higher in intensity. However, there are some conditions that would exclude you from participating, such as certain medical issues or recent surgeries. If you decide to take part, you will receive one of the treatments and help researchers learn more about how to manage neck pain effectively.
