ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at a test called the Enhanced Liver Function (ELF) score to see if it can help detect early signs of fatty liver disease in people at high risk. Fatty liver disease, specifically nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), can lead to serious liver problems. The study focuses on individuals who have certain health conditions, such as metabolic syndrome, high cholesterol, previous heart issues, high blood pressure, or type 2 diabetes. By analyzing ELF scores, the researchers hope to learn how well this test works compared to other methods used to check liver health, like ultrasounds and blood tests.

To participate in the trial, you need to be at least 18 years old and have had an ELF score assessment at Methodist Dallas Medical Center between November 2021 and December 2023. The study is currently recruiting participants of all genders. If you join, you can expect to provide information about your health and possibly make lifestyle changes to see if they improve your ELF scores over time. The goal is to better understand liver health in the community and how different factors can affect it.
