ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring how a new treatment called transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS) can help improve recovery for stroke patients. After a stroke, many people struggle with movement and other functions, and researchers are looking for better ways to support recovery. This study aims to see how taVNS affects brain activity and whether it can lead to better motor and cognitive recovery in patients who have recently had their first stroke.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should be between 18 and 90 years old and must have experienced a stroke within the last month. They should not have any serious heart, lung, liver, or kidney diseases, nor should they have conditions that could affect their recovery, like confusion or previous surgery on the vagus nerve. Those who join the study will undergo assessments of their brain activity and recovery progress while receiving the taVNS treatment. This research is important because it may provide new insights into effective treatments for stroke recovery, helping improve the lives of many patients.
