ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new method called shear-wave elastography to help diagnose pleural diseases, which affect the space around the lungs. The goal is to see if this method can provide better information that improves the success of biopsies, which are tests where a small tissue sample is taken for analysis. Researchers believe that using this technique during ultrasound-guided biopsies will help doctors get clearer and more accurate results.
To take part in the study, you need to be between 65 and 74 years old and have evidence of pleural disease visible on medical imaging. Unfortunately, younger patients under 18 or those who have difficulty holding their breath for a few seconds will not be eligible. If you decide to participate, you can expect to undergo a biopsy with this new technique, and your involvement could help improve how pleural diseases are diagnosed in the future. The trial is currently looking for participants, and everyone is welcome regardless of gender.
