ClinConnect Summary

The LEAP-M trial is exploring a new program aimed at helping young people, especially those of color, develop leadership skills and improve their mental health. This program combines civic engagement, which means getting involved in community issues, with mindfulness practices that help individuals stay calm and focused. The goal is to see if participating in LEAP-M can support the well-being of youth and help reduce health disparities that often affect young people of color in schools and neighborhoods.

To join the study, participants should be adolescents aged 14 to 18 who are currently in grades 9 to 12 at specific schools in Boston or Chicago. Those who can commit to the program's schedule are encouraged to participate, while those outside this age range or unable to attend regularly will not be eligible. Participants can expect to engage in activities that build their leadership skills and learn mindfulness techniques, all while working to make a positive impact in their communities. This trial is currently looking for volunteers to take part in this important initiative.
