ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how a mindfulness program can help students with visual impairments who are experiencing emotional and behavioral problems. The program being tested is known as Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), which will be adapted and translated into Urdu for easier understanding. The study will take place in two phases: first, researchers will survey students and their parents to identify factors that affect emotional health, like stress and social support. In the second phase, students who show significant emotional challenges will be randomly divided into two groups—one receiving the MBSR training and the other not—to see if the program effectively improves their emotional well-being.
To participate in this study, students must be between 13 and 17 years old and have some level of visual impairment. They should also be experiencing emotional or behavioral problems as identified by specific questionnaires. Participants can expect to engage in mindfulness training and share their experiences through assessments before and after the program. It’s important to note that students with other disabilities, those unwilling to participate, or those who have had recent critical medical conditions will not be included in the trial. The study aims to provide valuable insights into supporting students with visual impairments through mindfulness techniques.
