ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how listening to a mother's voice and music therapy can help reduce pain and improve health in young children who are on mechanical ventilation and require a painful procedure called endotracheal aspiration. Children aged between 2 and 36 months, who have passed a hearing test and are stable in their health, may be eligible to participate. The goal is to see if these comforting sounds can make the experience less painful and help the children feel better overall.
If your child participates, they will listen to recordings of their mother's voice or music during the procedure. This trial is important because it explores non-drug methods to manage pain, which can be easier and safer for young patients. It’s also crucial because many studies have not focused on how the mother’s voice and music can directly affect pain in intubated children. By participating, families can help contribute to finding better ways to support children during challenging medical procedures.
