ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking into how levels of vitamin D in the blood might affect patients with postherpetic neuralgia (PHN), which is pain that can occur after a shingles infection. Researchers want to understand if low vitamin D levels are linked to more severe pain, how well treatments work, and the overall health outlook for patients. They are also examining how inflammation and immune factors might play a role in these patients' experiences.

To participate in this study, individuals need to be at least 18 years old and have been diagnosed with herpetic neuralgia for no more than three months. The study is open to all genders. However, people with serious spinal issues, a history of certain autoimmune diseases, mental health disorders, or those who are pregnant or breastfeeding cannot take part. Participants can expect to answer questions and complete assessments about their condition throughout the trial. This research may help improve understanding and treatment of postherpetic neuralgia in the future.
