ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new way to help people who have lost feeling in the soles of their feet due to a movement disorder. Researchers are testing a special device that includes a flexible insole placed inside the shoe, which can detect pressure from walking, and a receiver that vibrates or heats up to help replace the lost sensation. This means that even if you can't feel your feet well, the device can help you understand how much pressure you're putting on them, which could improve your balance and mobility.
To participate in this study, you should be between 65 and 74 years old, able to walk at least 10 meters with or without assistance, and willing to follow the study guidelines. However, if you have certain conditions like a complete spinal cord injury or an above-knee amputation, you won’t be able to join. If you decide to participate, you will be helping researchers learn more about how this device can improve foot sensation and potentially enhance mobility for others in the future.
