ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying ways to encourage older adults, specifically those 65 and older, to get vaccinated against pneumococcal disease, which can cause serious infections. The researchers want to see if showing participants a web-based educational video about the vaccine and sending them a reminder email will help increase the number of people who decide to get vaccinated compared to just sending a reminder email alone. The trial will also look at whether this educational approach helps improve participants' knowledge about the vaccine, their willingness to get vaccinated, and their overall attitudes toward vaccination.
To participate, you need to be at least 65 years old, live in Canada, and have not received a pneumococcal vaccine before. If you join the trial, you will first answer a few questions online, then watch the educational video if you’re in the group that receives it, and you will receive an email reminder to get vaccinated. After some time, you will answer another survey to see how your thoughts and actions regarding the vaccine may have changed. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and your involvement could help improve vaccination rates among older adults in Canada.
