ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is comparing two different ways to treat wrist fractures, specifically when the break is not too severe. The researchers want to find out if keeping the wrist in a cast for three weeks is better or worse than using a brace for just one week for adults under 50 years old with a certain type of wrist fracture called a distal radius fracture. This study aims to help determine the best method for healing these types of fractures.
To be part of this trial, participants need to be between the ages of 18 and 50 and have a specific kind of wrist fracture that is either not displaced or only slightly displaced. They should also be able to manage their daily activities independently. People with previous wrist injuries, certain medical conditions, or those who cannot understand the study information in Dutch will not be eligible. If you join, you will receive either a cast or a brace, and the study will help doctors learn more about how long to keep patients immobilized for the best recovery.
