ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a treatment called Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS), which is a safe and painless way to stimulate the brain using low-level electrical currents. The goal is to see if tDCS can help improve awareness and consciousness in patients who have experienced severe brain injuries and are in a condition known as a minimally conscious state. This treatment might help the brain rewire itself and recover better function.

To participate in the trial, patients need to be diagnosed with a minimally conscious state, and their family members must provide written consent. Unfortunately, individuals in a coma, or those with certain medical devices like metallic implants or pacemakers, cannot take part. Those who join the study can expect to receive brain stimulation in a controlled setting and will be monitored for any changes in their level of consciousness. The research team hopes that this treatment could offer new hope for recovery in patients with brain injuries.
