ClinConnect Summary
The E-Emotio Project is a clinical trial designed to help children and teenagers improve their ability to manage emotions, which can reduce the chances of developing anxiety and depression. The study uses a fun and engaging tool called virtual reality (VR), where participants will play games that promote important skills like decision-making and focusing. This trial is open to school-aged children between 10 and 16 years old who can understand Spanish or English and agree to participate. However, children with severe mental health issues or certain physical disabilities won’t be eligible.
Participants will be divided into two groups: one will use the E-Emotio VR program with games focused on emotional and cognitive skills, while the other group will experience a relaxing VR environment without the games. This study will take place over five weeks, with sessions twice a week, and researchers will check in before and after the trial to see how the children are feeling and functioning. The goal is to find out if this fun approach to learning can improve the mental well-being of young people, making it easier for them to handle their emotions and stress.
