ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how melatonin, a natural sleep aid, can help improve sleep quality and reduce anxiety in adults who are recovering from coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. The goal is to see if taking melatonin can also lessen the need for pain medication after surgery.

To be eligible for this trial, participants need to be between 40 and 60 years old and scheduled for standard CABG surgery performed by the same surgical team. However, certain individuals, such as those with allergies to the study drugs, those taking specific medications for mental health or sleep issues, or those with certain medical conditions like severe respiratory diseases or sleep disorders, won't be able to participate. If you join the study, you can expect to be monitored for how well you sleep and how anxious you feel after your surgery, helping researchers understand the potential benefits of melatonin for patients like you.
