ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well hospitals are following new recommendations for the use of neuromuscular blocking agents (NMBAs) during surgeries. NMBAs are medications that help relax muscles, making it easier for doctors to perform surgeries. However, if not used correctly, they can cause problems. The trial is looking specifically at the practices in one hospital to see if the guidelines released in 2023 are being followed.
To participate in this study, patients must be scheduled for surgery that involves the use of these muscle-relaxing medications. The trial is open to all patients aged 65 and older who meet this requirement. Participants will not need to do anything extra, but their medical records will be reviewed to assess how NMBAs are being used. This study is important because it aims to improve safety and care for patients undergoing surgery with these medications.
