ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring how effective a combination of telerehabilitation and in-person physiotherapy is for patients who have recently undergone total hip replacement (THA) surgery. Telerehabilitation means that patients will receive some of their rehabilitation treatment through electronic devices like computers or smartphones, allowing them to participate from home. The goal is to see if this approach can help reduce pain and improve function just as well as traditional in-person rehabilitation, while also keeping patients engaged and satisfied with their care.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be between 50 and 80 years old and must have had a total hip replacement surgery. They should start their outpatient rehabilitation within a week after leaving the hospital and must be able to use a device for telehealth sessions. Importantly, those who have had previous hip surgeries, have trouble understanding Italian, or cannot access stable internet will not be included. Participants can expect to receive care both online and in person, and the study aims to compare the outcomes of these two methods to find the best rehabilitation approach for recovery after hip surgery.
