ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of a dietary supplement called AffronEye®/Crocuvis+®, which is made from saffron extract, on people with dry eye syndrome. Dry eye syndrome is a condition where your eyes don’t produce enough tears or the right quality of tears, leading to discomfort and vision problems. In this study, researchers want to see how well this supplement helps improve the signs and symptoms of dry eye compared to a placebo, which is a harmless substance that looks like the real treatment but has no active ingredients.
To participate in this trial, you should be between the ages of 65 and 74 and have dry eye syndrome as diagnosed by specific criteria. However, if you are currently experiencing other eye problems, have taken any dietary supplements in the last month, or are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant soon, you won’t be eligible. Participants can expect to be part of a group that either receives the supplement or the placebo, and they will undergo tests to measure the effects on their dry eye symptoms. This study is not yet recruiting participants, so keep an eye out for updates if you’re interested!
