ClinConnect Summary
The PRISM-Social Needs (PRISM-SN) trial is looking to help young people aged 12 to 25 who have recently been diagnosed with cancer. The study aims to see if a new program, designed to support their social and emotional well-being, is helpful and acceptable. Participants will be randomly assigned to either receive standard care or the PRISM-SN program, which focuses on improving coping skills and social support. Researchers will check in with everyone to see how they feel about their social health after 12 weeks.
To join the study, participants must be within the age range of 12 to 25 and have been diagnosed with a new cancer that requires treatment like chemotherapy or radiation, but only within the last six months. They also need to be able to understand and participate in the program and fill out surveys in English. Throughout the study, participants can expect to share their feedback and experiences, which will help the researchers understand if the PRISM-SN program can make a positive difference in their lives.
