ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how certain proteins, called cytokines, change in the eye's fluid (aqueous humor) and tears before and after a treatment called Ultrasound Cyclo Plasty (UCP) in patients with glaucoma. Glaucoma is a serious eye condition that can lead to vision loss, and UCP is a newer, less invasive way to help lower eye pressure, which is crucial for managing glaucoma. By looking at the changes in these proteins, the researchers hope to better understand how UCP works and improve its success in treating patients.
To participate in this trial, you need to have a confirmed diagnosis of glaucoma and show that your eye pressure is higher than 21 mmHg, even while using the best tolerated medication. If you have other eye diseases, recent eye surgeries, or infections, you may not be eligible. If you join the study, you will be monitored before and after the UCP treatment to see how your eye’s environment changes, which could help doctors predict how well the treatment works for you and others in the future.
