ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Perfusion Index in Assessment of Postoperative Pain in Children," is studying how well a special measurement called the perfusion index can help predict and assess pain in children after surgery. The perfusion index looks at blood flow to different parts of the body, which may give doctors clues about how much pain a child is experiencing after undergoing a specific type of surgery called hypospadias repair.
To participate in this study, children must be between the ages of 1 and 3 years old and have parental or guardian consent. The trial is open to both boys and girls who are considered healthy enough for surgery. Parents should know that children with certain health conditions or those taking specific medications will not be eligible for this study. If enrolled, participants will help researchers learn more about how to better manage pain in young patients after surgery, which could lead to improved care in the future.
