ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two different ways to help lower blood sugar levels in older adults with type II diabetes. It involves two groups of participants aged 60 to 75 years. One group will do passive stretching exercises for 40 minutes, while the other group will receive electrical stimulation for 30 minutes, three times a week for 12 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in blood sugar levels, physical mobility, and fatigue before and after the study to see which method is more effective.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should have a specific range of blood sugar levels, be between 60 and 75 years old, have a body mass index (BMI) between 25 and 29.9, and have been living with diabetes for 5 to 7 years while taking the same diabetes medication. They should also be in stable health without serious heart, kidney, or other medical issues that could affect their ability to participate. This study is important because it offers alternatives for individuals who may find it difficult to engage in traditional exercise, helping them manage their diabetes more effectively.
