ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how accurately blood pressure can be measured in pregnant women during their doctor appointments compared to a special 24-hour monitoring device. The researchers want to see if taking blood pressure readings automatically in the waiting room can give similar results to the readings from the 24-hour monitor, which checks blood pressure throughout the day and night. The trial specifically looks at women who are in the first trimester of their pregnancy (the first 12 weeks).
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be women over the age of 35 who are pregnant for the first time and have certain health factors, such as a history of high blood pressure or obesity. During the trial, each participant will have their blood pressure measured every 3 minutes for 20 minutes while they wait for their appointment. It’s important to note that this trial is not yet recruiting participants, so it’s still in the planning stages. If you or someone you know fits the criteria, it could provide valuable information about managing blood pressure during pregnancy.
