ClinConnect Summary
The Qoyangnuptu: Peer Mentor clinical trial is studying how a peer mentor program can help improve mental health in a Southwestern Tribal Community. The researchers want to find out how to create a supportive program that keeps young people engaged and positively influences their mental well-being. They are also exploring how to use technology effectively to maintain community involvement, especially in areas where resources may be limited.
To participate in this trial, you need to be a member of the Southwestern Tribal Community, have a smartphone, and be able to access the Internet at least once a day. Participants will be trained to become peer mentors, which means they'll guide and motivate a small group of three mentees using a special app. This app will help them communicate and share mindfulness activities to encourage positive mental health practices. This trial is currently recruiting individuals aged 65 to 97, and it aims to empower community members to support each other in their mental wellness journey.
